Regional Archaeological Museum Palermo Regional Archaeological Museum - Via Bara all'Olivella, 24 - Palermo

The archaeological museum presents a rich collection of Phoenician-Punic finds (anthropoid sarcophagi, Punic votive stele from the center of Mozia), Egyptians (the famous hieroglyphic inscription "Pietra di Palermo", a statue of Prince Bes), marine finds (amphorae and anchors), sarcophagi and Roman statues.
In addition, a room dedicated to Roman sculpture with wall frescoes from the Roman villas of Solunto and a room of Greek sculpture with a fragment of the Parthenon frieze, the Decree of Entella, funerary aedicules from Lilibeo, funerary objects from the Punic necropolis of Palermo.
On the second floor, a section dedicated to Greek and Etruscan ceramics.

176 paintings and 38 sculptures purchased at the Venice Biennale and other important art exhibitions represent the GAM collection in Palermo: the evolution of the portrait between Neoclassicism and Romanticism, the poetics of Verism and the transition to Naturalism; finally a section dedicated to the Italian and Sicilian twentieth century.

A basilica with three naves dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul commissioned by the first Norman King Roger II of Altavilla and consecrated on 28 April 1140. The monument, one of the most visited in Sicily, stands out for the presence of Byzantine mosaics depicting Christ Pantocrator they entirely cover the dome, transept and apses.

Inaugurated in 1686 by the Compagnia del SS. Rosario in Santa Cita, the Oratory presents itself to the visitor with an exterior as simple as the interior is sumptuous. After entering, a simple staircase leads to the ante-oratory which leads to the oratory hall, where there is the splendid Baroque masterpiece of stuccos the Mysteries and the Virtues, by Giacomo Serpotta. Among the various stuccos, the Battle of Lepanto (7 October 1571) stands out in the center of the counter-façade, a work commissioned to commemorate the victory of the fleet of the Christian League against the Turks, which took place thanks to the protection and intercession of Our Lady of the Rosary.
